On Saturday, November 24th you’ll join Context Travel at 3pm for a guided walking tour for an Introduction to the 1st District. You’ll see sights such as Romanesque Ruprechtskirche: Vienna’s oldest church, the gothic Maria am Gestade, 18th century palaces, and Stephansdom: Vienna’s cathedral.
The rest of your weekend, enjoy the many Christmas Markets of Vienna including:
- Rathausplatz with more than 150 stalls offering gifts, decorations, sweet treats, and more!
- Christmas village on Maria-Theresien-Platz where over 60 stalls offer traditional handicrafts and steaming cups of mulled wine.
- Old Viennese Christmas Market on Freyung where Christmas Markets began as early as 1772.
- Riesenradplatz where there are children’s adventure rides, musical live acts, and a humorous show program.
And while you’re going starry-eyed at all the hand painted Nativity sets, glass bulbs, and other handicrafts you won’t find anywhere else, have a mug (or four) of mulled wine for us!

Entering to win is super easy – just follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter widget below. And as a bonus, if you register for the next Jaunts with Jdomb’s Travels by October 15th, you will automatically get 5 entries! Register between October 16 and October 26th to get 3 entries. And any registrations from October 26 – November 7 will receive 1 entry. So what are you waiting for?!

Entries are open now until November 7th. We will use Rafflecopter to randomly select a winner, but you must be present at the Jaunts with Jdomb’s Travels event at Bierengel on November 12th in order to win.
And a few rules…
Trip is for two adults and two children and valued at €400. Transportation to, from, and within Vienna is not included and is the responsibility of the winner. Winner must be 18 years + to win. JdombsTravels.com is responsible for promoting the campaign and selecting a winner. Winner agrees to provide 5 – 10 photos from their trip for use on JdombsTravels.com, to include photos from the apartment, walking tour, and Christmas Markets. Winner agrees to post-trip written question and answer interview for use on JombsTravels.com. Pictures and interview questionnaire must be provided to JdombsTravels.com no later than December 7, 2012.

We have been here for 2 1/2 years and this is our last chance to get Christmas Markets in. The above photo looks amazing! Looks like another must see may be added to our list!

Just got back from a chocolate festival out in Soave, Italy with Jen D. and had a blast! Most of the small local festivals around here don’t advertise so it’s great to have someone who knows when and where all the fun stuff is. I’m looking forward to hearing about more upcoming events.

We are so excited to come!! Last year we went to Salzburg and fell in love with Christmas Markets! It has become our new Christmas tradition!!

The food is amazing at the Salzburg Christmas Market! We especially liked the hot baked potato cart with toppings last year.
